Rare Opportunity: Sale of Barcham Green Handmade Papers

CBBAG GTA chapter is pleased to offer vintage handmade paper made by Barcham Green and TH Saunders mould made watercolour paper for sale. All proceeds will benefit CBBAG. The sale will be held Thursday February 23 at 5.30 p.m. in advance of the chapter evening programme. The sale will take place at the CBBAG bindery, 60 Atlantic Avenue, Suite 112, Toronto.

Papers on offer were made between 1975 and 1985 and have been donated to CBBAG and now will be available to members for purchase. All the papers are in good condition and have been stored flat and protected with great care by the donating artist.

In some cases the name of the paper is known, e.g. Dover & Bodelian, for others the watermark and dates are the identifying clues. There is a limited number of each type of paper; please refer to the chart below.

• Papers will be available only in person on the evening of February 23 (first come first served) and none can be ordered in advance or put aside for anyone.

Looking to Purchase
I am looking for the following equipment - second hand, for a colleague here in Kingston.

Manual Paper Cutter
- for 12" x 18" papers (we would settle for a 17" maximum cut and we would absolutely love the ability to cut as large as 24" - though we don't expect to find that).
- needs to be able to cut through stacks 1" or thicker

Book Press
- to accommodate 12" x 9" saddle stitched books (again, we would love something even larger - to press 10" x 14" or 11" x 14" - but don't expect to find that)
