The Show
Textual Relations didn't exactly start that way, but it turned out to be a chance to demonstrate how two very
different bodies of work had, over a period of twenty years, overlapped
and influenced one another.
While Don had done one-off bindings of several of Will's Aliquando Press books, the show included only
one true collaboration, Franz Kafka's An Ancient Manuscript. For the most part, the work
had taken place in quite different areas with separate intent and focus. As the show came together, it became apparent that over the
years Will had become a bookbinder, while Don had become interested in the
notion of publishing. So Will's publishers bindings and Don's Pointyhead Press Publications
found places in the show alongside the fancy bindings and the beautiful
Aliquando Press work.
