Purpose:
The purpose of the CBBAG Online Gallery is to exhibit the work of CBBAG members on the world
wide web with the aim of: 1) increasing exposure for CBBAG members; 2) providing CBBAG
members with the opportunity to view work they might not otherwise see; and 3) present the
public the opportunity to see the work being done by CBBAG members. The Online Gallery is
designed to complement the CBBAG exhibition programme.
The CBBAG Online Gallery will be directed by a Curatorial Committee.
Guidelines:
The Online Gallery will showcase the following exhibits:
• Solo and two-person exhibitions
• Small group shows - with one contact person responsible for the exhibitors
• Regional shows - curated
with the goal to include shows in all book arts fields and to provide a mix of solo and group
exhibitions.
Exhibitors must be CBBAG members.
Criteria:
Exhibit proposals will be considered based on the following criteria:
• the timeliness of the exhibit
• the quality of the images provided
• how much other exposure the works to be exhibited have received
• the variety it will add to the Online Gallery’s schedule
• the quality of the work
• whether there is sufficient work (both in quantity and in variety) available to present an
exhibition which will be of interest
• whether the text and images will fit in the 10MB web space allocation
The Curatorial Committee has the right to refuse any proposals which do not fit the criteria. As
well, the committee may turn down proposals if it feels it cannot accommodate them in a timely
fashion.
Members of the Curatorial Committee will be responsible for making proposals for exhibitions.
As well, CBBAG members will be invited to make proposals for both solo and group exhibitions,
both exhibitions in which they would participate and those which they think would be of interest
to themselves and other members.
The exhibitors and/or exhibit organizer are responsible for providing the gallery coordinator with
the following:
• Digital images
• Captions for images
• Biographical information (optional)
• Contact information (optional)
• Artists statements (optional)
• Agreement/release from the artist(s)
