How to Enter the Kindred Spirits Exhibition

CBBAG thanks you in advance for your participation in the Kindred Spirits: The Lucy Maud Montgomery Legacy as Interpreted by Contemporary Book Artists exhibition and looks forward to seeing your work!

Registration Deadline: January 29, 2024

Deadline for Submission of Entries: April 1, 2024

Please click "Pay online" to complete your registration on the Review and Confirm page.

Payment for registration can also be made by the methods below - please see fee payment options.  Start the registration process and then choose "Invoice me" on the Review and Confirm page. Your registration will be pending until payment is made by one of the methods below.

Registration & Entry Fee

Those who are interested in having their works considered for inclusion in the exhibition declare their desire to enter by paying a registration fee in advance. Registrants may submit up to 2 works for consideration. The Registration Fee schedule is as follows:

Fee Type 1

  • CBBAG Member
  • 1 entry - CDN $40
  • 2 entries - CDN $80

Fee Type 2

  • Non-CBBAG Member
  • 1 entry - CDN $40 + CDN $60 membership fee = CDN $100
  • 2 entries - CDN $140

Fee Type 3

  • CBBAG Student Member
  • 1 entry - CDN $20
  • 2 entries - CDN $40

Fee Type 4

  • Student Non-CBBAG Member
  • 1 entry - CDN $20 + CDN $25 membership fee = CDN $45
  • 2 entries - CDN $65

Registration Entry Fee Payment Options

In addition to the registration link above, payment can be made by the following methods:

By eTransfer from Canadian banks (Preferred Method for Canadians):

  • Send e-transfer to cbbag@cbbag.ca. No security question is required.
  • In the message section, indicate this is an LMM Exhibition Registration and indicate which Registration Fee Type (1, 2, 3, or 4).
  • Wire transfers will not be accepted as a form of payment.

By Credit Card

  • Contact CBBAG by e-mail at cbbag@cbbag.ca to request an eInvoice for online payment by Visa or MasterCard through CBBAG's secure server.
  • Include information on which Registration Fee Type (1, 2, 3, or 4).

By Cheque:

  • Make cheque payable to the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild
  • In the memo field indicate LMM Exhibition Registration and which Registration Fee Type (1, 2, 3, or 4).

General Acknowledgement

By registering for, as well as being included in, the Kindred Spirits exhibition, participants acknowledge and accept the following:

  • All works are submitted at the participant's own risk.
  • Participants are responsible for their own transit insurance and shipping costs, both to and from the designated judging destination. (For more shipping information, see Submission Deadline & Mailing Instructions.)
  • All works will be photographed, and the condition noted upon receipt at each venue/destination.
  • It is the responsibility of all participants to notify CBBAG of any changes in mailing address. Send an e-mail to cbbag@cbbag.ca with the change of address, referencing the LMM exhibition. CBBAG is not responsible for the return of work for which it does not have an up-to-date mailing address.

Technical Parameters

DimensionsAny one submission must not exceed 14” x 10 3/8” x 2 1/8” / 35cm x 26cm x 5cm. (Note: These are the dimensions of a small Canada Post Flat Rate box; for submissions from the US or other locations, please see detailed instructions following the Canadian mailing instructions.)

 

Weight: Any one submission must not exceed 11 lbs/5kg

 

Durability: This is a travelling exhibition, therefore works must be robust enough to withstand the rigours of transportation

 

Hazardous / Dangerous Goods: Materials used to create and/or accompany the works must meet Canada Transport regulations which means:

  • No hazardous substances or dangerous goods are permitted, including flammable, explosive, corrosive, poisonous, or toxic items
  • No liquids or gels of any kind
  • No lithium batteries
