Leather Workshop
Instructor: Betsy Palmer Eldridge
Location: 24 Castle Frank  Cres., Toronto ON
   (Castle Frank Subway Station)
Duration: 1 1/2  days,  Friday evening Jan. 9 & Saturday, Jan. 10
Hours:  Fri. 7 -9:30 p.m.; Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Course Fee: $125 members / $185 non-members
Materials Fee: $15.00 payable to instructor
Prerequisite: BB2 or permission of instructor
    This one day workshop designed as an adjunct to Bookbinding 3 is a comprehensive introduction to the different types of leather and paring techniques used in bookbinding.

 

 

Betsy Palmer Eldridge apprenticed as a bookbinder in Hamburg, Germany, studied finishing with Jules Fache in Paris, and worked in conservation with Carolyn Horton and Associates in New York in the 60s. She has had her own Studio in Toronto since 1975, and has taught courses and workshops in bookbinding and conservation since in 1984. She has been active in professional organizations both nationally and internationally.
