The name "Long & Link Stitch" applies to a group of similar sewing techniques and structures that are relatively simple to make. They were used extensively in Europe in the middle ages, but have modern applications as well. Participants in this two day course will make as many models as time allows.
Betsy Palmer Eldridge apprenticed as a bookbinder in Hamburg, Germany, studied finishing with Jules Fache in Paris, and worked in conservation with Carolyn Horton and Associates in New York in the 60s. She has had her own Studio in Toronto since 1975, and has taught courses and workshops in bookbinding and conservation since in 1984. She has been active in professional organizations both nationally and internationally.
