Celebrate the Season: Creating Festive Sculptural Objects

Hours: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Course Fee: $95 members / non-members

Materials Fee: $20 payable to instructor

Just in time for the festive season! Create sculptural objects to hang in a window, sit on a mantle or slip into an envelope to give to family or friends and everyone enjoys receiving a popup card!

Spend the day making ornaments based on the lotus and carousel book fold and popup cards to use for greetings, invitation or thank you card.


Continue the adventure later with take home templates to make multiples for everyone on your list. These samples can become a jumping off point for your own unique creations.


Beginners are welcome!


Akiko Lamb is an industrial designer who loves the structure, problem solving and the aesthetics of book arts. Following graduation from Radio & Television Arts, Ryerson University, her work included educational development and program design for TVOntario. Later, as a graduate of Industrial Design, OCADU, she studied bookbinding with George Walker who introduced her to the world of book arts. Akiko has taught at OCADU, libraries, schools and privately including portfolio preparation for entrance into art/design programs and book arts workshops. Her work also includes designing for interiors, retail and costume for professional theatre. As a designer and teacher, Akiko continues to explore and share her love of the visual arts.
