Binding books composed of single sheets has been with us since 1836 when someone got the bright idea that you could glue sheets of paper together with latex from rubber trees. These "cautchouc" bindings all fell apart some years later when the rubber dried out and "perished". Since then adhesives have improved and the demand for this kind of binding has only expanded.

In this 4-day workshop, we will be covering several methods including double fan binding, drilled and stabbed bindings, binding sheets of heavy paper (so that the book opens flat), and rebinding a paperback in hard cover.

Pretty much all you'll need to know about this modern problem.
