This is the first online workshop that CBBAG's GTA chapter is offering. We hope to be able to do more online workshops going forward. Workshop enrollment has been limited to Canadian resident CBBAG members due to potential challenges with delivering materials outside of Canada. The material costs for this workshop are included in the fee and will be sent by Canada Post courtesy of George Hill & Co. Because the course materials and postage are being donated, there will be no refunds if registrants don't provide a correct postal address or if the materials don't arrive in time due to Canada Post delivery issues. We are allowing a few weeks for delivery so we don't expect to have any problems. Prior to registering, please confirm that your postal address is correct in your member profile.
The Cross Structure Binding (CSB) is a book structure in which the cover is attached to the text block as it is sewn.
The Safeguarding CSB creates a complete protective wrap of the text block and sewing. The simple design also makes a very attractive cover.
This CSB is an excellent starting point for anyone new to bookbinding.
Stuart Hill has studied bookbinding with CBBAG under the guidance of Betsy Palmer Eldridge, Don Taylor, Dan Mezza and Rose Newlove. With a background in engineering and architecture, his keen interest is in the discovery of book structures. Please visit Stuart’s website: www.georgehillco.com
