Please join me for a virtual studio conversation about my process for creating artist’s books. I’ll talk about why I make them, subjects I explore, printmaking techniques I use in my books, paper selection, endpapers, covers and suppliers. I’ll discuss what I find to be the most difficult parts of the process and the easiest parts, or whether there is an easy part! I’ll show maquettes - those that worked and those that haven’t worked - yet. There’s lots to see and discuss!

Liz Menard is an award-winning Toronto-based book artist, printmaker and arts educator. Liz’s lifelong love of nature continues to inform her practice. Through her work, Liz invites people to consider their relationship to nature, the lifecycle, and our fragile environment. Sustaining environmental biodiversity is a recurring theme in Liz’s work.

This presentation is envisioned to work in tandem with the demonstration in Sept called “An Exploration of Japanese Papers”. CBBAG decided that this presentation was of enough interest to the entire organization to offer it for no fee to all members.

This presentation will be recorded and posted to the CBBAG youtube channel.
